There are 3 types of telecommunication earthing systems allowed by the ACIF.
- CES – Communications Earth System
- TRC – Telecommunications Reference Conductor
- D.d. Earth – DC Supply Earthing.
Earthing within telecommunications network serves two functions.
- Functional (means the protective earth provides a function)
- Protection (purely a safety conductor ie: lightening strike)
